Resalta to retrofit public lighting in Polzela municipality, Slovenia

Resalta has entered signed a concession for the retrofit of public lighting with the municipality of Polzela, in north-eastern Slovenia. Resalta will replace obsolete luminaires in the municipality with energy efficient LED, thus generating 200 MWh of energy savings and reducing carbon emissions by 94 tons.

Under the terms of the concession, Resalta will provide financing up to 60% and take care of maintenance for the duration of the contract which is set at 10 years. During this time, Resalta guarantees energy savings. In addition to replacing the luminaires, Resalta will establish a central control system at lighting stations with enabled detection of luminaire failure and a remote feature for switching luminaires on and off. Resalta will also ensure luminous flux control, optimization of switching times through control devices with light sensors and ensure traffic lights are high efficiency.

This is one of multiple public lighting projects Resalta has undertaken in the region, and one of many public projects. Notable projects include the largest energy efficiency PPP in the region signed with the City of Ljubljana, for the energy retrofit of 49 municipal buildings, as well as the two follow-up projects that resulted in a renovation of in total 89 buildings. Other projects in the region include lighting in the Istrian city of Novigrad in Croatia, biomass heating for the Sremska Mitrovica Penitentiary in Serbia and boiler room renovations for the Gornja Toponica Special Psychiatric Hospital in Serbia. Resalta will continue to work with cities and municipalities throughout the region in its efforts to improve energy efficiency in the public sector.
