Situation before the contract and client requirements

Thermana Laško is one of the biggest thermal baths in Slovenia with an upscale hotel and wellness centre complex, as well as a medical program.

Thermana consumes 15,000 MWh of heat energy each year.

The client was using natural gas as energy source for heating and had difficulties with a cogeneration (CHP) unit operating only 1,000 hours per year.

Resalta solution

Resalta installed an optimal cogeneration (CHP) unit on natural gas, with a 800 kW electricity capacity and 856 kW capacity of thermal power.

The unit’s heat efficiency is 45% and the overall efficiency  is 87%.

Resalta sells heat energy to the client and monitors the system through GGE‘s central control system (web access) in real time.
