The iconic Bled Ice Hall has reopened its doors after a comprehensive energy and infrastructure renovation, delivered by Resalta. This project is a shining example of how technical excellence, public investment, and engineering precision can come together to enhance legacy infrastructure for generations to come.
At the heart of the renovation is a new 22 cm thick post-tensioned concrete slab embedded with 20 kilometers of cooling pipes — a highly advanced and rare solution that ensures optimal thermal distribution, long-term durability, and exceptional performance for ice sports.
Additional upgrades include:
-
A complete overhaul of the cooling system
-
Integration of 4 km of underfloor heating
-
Installation of high-efficiency compressors
-
Smart automation and heat reuse for improved energy balance
The project was celebrated at an opening event attended by athletes, hockey legends, and Slovenian NHL hockey star Anže Kopitar, who joined the first match played on the newly upgraded rink.
This transformation reinforces Bled Ice Hall’s role as a leading venue for national and international competitions, while significantly reducing energy consumption and operational risks.
We are grateful to the Municipality of Bled, our partners Kota and GGD, and all stakeholders who contributed to making this project a success.
