Situation before the contract and client requirements

The Grand Hotel Bernardin faced high energy expenses and an obsolete heating system that needed renovation.

The client wanted to reduce energy expenses, become energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

The hotel had to operate without interruptions.

Resalta solution

Resalta signed an energy performance contract for the replacement of the existing oil-fueled boilers with an efficient reversible seawater heat pump with a thermal and cooling capacity of 1.00 MW.

The seawater is an easily accessible, free and environmentally friendly source that is used to both heat and cool the hotel.
