Situation before the contract and client requirements
Pivovara Daruvar is the oldest brewery in Croatia, with a brewing tradition that dates back to 1840. While parts of the facility had seen recent upgrades, the steam production infrastructure — particularly the boiler room — still relied on equipment dating back over four decades.
The site was operating with two ORO-Metal boilers from the mid-1970s and original Weishaupt burners. While these systems had served reliably over the years, they no longer met the performance, efficiency, or operational standards expected for a modern brewing process.
Following a detailed technical assessment, Resalta identified clear opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and ensure long-term system reliability.
Resalta solution
Resalta delivered a full turnkey upgrade of the steam system under a 10-year ESCO contract — managing everything from engineering and design to implementation, commissioning, and operation.
The project scope included:
- Installation of a new 6,000 kg/h steam boiler with economizer
- New burner, chimney, gas and steam metering systems
- Complete mechanical and electrical works
- Dismantling and removal of the legacy system
- Operator training and support
The system is monitored monthly, with detailed performance reports and ongoing optimisation based on real-time consumption data.
Resalta is also responsible for maintaining and operating the boiler under the ESCO model, ensuring long-term reliability, energy savings, and operational peace of mind for the brewery team.
